About

Our School

Scoil Eoin Báiste, formerly known as Nobber National School, was built in 1985. This new school replaced the old school which you can still see to the front of the new school.

Not long after it was built an extension comprising one classroom was added.

Currently, we have 6 classrooms, a GP room / kitchen / library / SET space, Sensory Room, two small offices and some outside storage areas.

In September 2021 we opened two ASD classes – Spraoi which is our Early Intervention room, and Sonas which is from Junior Infants. In September 2022 we will be welcoming a 5th mainstream teacher as our numbers have grown steadily for the last number of years.

As you can imagine, the school is using every inch of space inside the walls to ensure that everyone is accommodated, but we were delighted to hear that we were granted an extension which will be coming in the next couple of years. Luckily, the extension will not impinge on the vast yard space we have and instead will take up a lot of the dead space around the back of the school. Our pitch and court areas will remain untouched.

Our extension will comprise of an Early Intervention room, SEN base and all associated works. We will need to have a prefab onsite until the building is completed as we will need to accommodate our growing numbers. We will be submitting our plans to the Department in the coming weeks and hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to get moving on this very exciting project.
